Seniors Class of 2007
Brianna, Jennifer, Hannah, Lauren
"31-4" The Lady Warriors fall short of the State Finals, yet they finish the 2006-2007 Season with the most wins in school history. Our Lady Warriors outscored their opponents 137-18. With only 7 of the 18 runs being earned. It was a unforgettable season for the four Seniors that will be leaving the Warrior's Diamond.
Lady Warriors bring the Region Title back to LFO After giving up the title to their county rival team, Ringgold Lady Tigers for the past 2 seasons, the girls feel it's "back where it belongs". With a very tough region and the fast pitch schools getting better year by year Coach Ellis knew this would be a tough region tournament to get through. This being his 3rd season as LFO's head coach the girls were excited to win this one, not for themselves but for him. These girls have put a lot of heart, soul, and sweat into this season. Here's how it all went down Game 1: LFO 8 Rome 0 Jessica Penney was the winning pitcher, with 12 K's, allowing 3 hits and walking none. She also went 3 for 4 with 1 double and 3 RBI"s. They say hitting is contagious and it was. Johnson, Friar, and Culver all had singles, Brianna Payne had an RBI single. Kaycee Crow was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI doubles, Lindsey Lowe went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles, Kayla Elswick was 2 for 3 and Lauren Flores was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI doubles.
Game 2: LFO 2 Dalton 0 Winning Pitcher Lauren Flores, 12 K's, 4 hits. Kaycee Crow and 2 doubles, Lindsey Lowe and Hannah Johnson both had RBI singles.
Game 3: LFO 4 Ringgold 0 Lauren Flores went the distance striking out 11, allowing 1 hit and walking 2. Karmen Respicio walked, Brianna Payne had a bunt to the 3rd baseman who overthrew 1st base, Lauren Flores hit a single between 3rd and short to load the bases, and here comes BIG DAWG Kayla Elswick, with an 0-2 count she hits a shot over left center to get her 1st homerun in high school, never the less a GRAND SLAM. Great defense was played in this game. Our Lady Warriors were errorless or you could say flawless this game. Left Fielder Karmen Respicio and Center Fielder Brianna Payne had exceptional catches in the outfield to keep the tigers off the bases. Jennifer Friar and Kayla Elswick both had some hot line drive shots hit at them and made the plays. Lets not forget that very tough Lady behind the plate, Kaycee Crow. Don't pop it up any where around the plate because if you do, "your out". This Warrior will lay out for anything she can get to.
Game 4: LFO 2 Ringgold 1 This one was for all the marbles. The Lady Warriors racked up 8 hits in this one. Lauren Flores got the win by striking out 8, allowing 4 hits, and walking one. 2nd inning, Kaycee Crow had a double to deep center, Haley Culver hit to deep center to plate Crow. 3rd inning; Kayla Elswick was hit by a pitch, Hannah Johnson had a single to left to move Elswick to second, Ellis put in pinch runner Ashley Garcia, Kaycee Crow had a sac fly to score Garcia. Respicio had a double, Payne had 2 singles.
Congratulations
Lauren Flores was named Homecoming Queen at our LFO Homecoming game on Friday, September 29th. Instead of attending the Homecoming Game, adorned in a white dress, she was wearing a softball uniform at the Brookwood Tournament. Lauren showed a lot of heart by choosing to attend the softball tournament with her team mates instead of attending the Football game and traditional ceremony. She said "she can't wait to comeback next year and Crown her Catcher Kaycee Crow"
